Royal GD and LeeO are pleased to announce their new collaboration. Together with LeeO, GD has developed an algorithm that makes it possible to predict the individual growth of pigs and their slaughter weight. In LeeO's application, which provides a comprehensive overview of the individual pig's life cycle at a glance, the optimal transport moment can be scheduled based on the predicted slaughter weight.
The algorithm is designed to predict both the individual growth of animals and the collective growth within a group. It uses the farm's historical data and the individual birth weight of piglets. This gives farmers and supply chain managers access to advanced growth data, enabling them to make better-informed decisions about feeding, care, and management.
The collaboration was officially launched on 10 April with the signing of the agreement. "We are very excited about this collaboration with LeeO and the opportunities offered by the new growth algorithm," said Ynte Schukken, director of Royal GD. "Through the algorithm, we can make accurate predictions, which effectively contribute to monitoring and optimising the health and growth of the animals."
